Project Description
Be a good sport
The Noosa region is a sporting paradise, it hosts many top events – such as the annual Noosa Triathlon, Kellogg’s Nutri-Grain Ironman Series and the Noosa Festival of Surfing.
It all starts with the beach. Plenty of safe, patrolled areas with warm water and gentle waves suitable for all the family.
And it goes without saying that surf is big here. There are approx 14km of shoreline – from Sunshine Beach round the National Park coastline and on up to the North Shore – that offers some of the best surfing points in Australia.
Similarly, kayakers, stand-up paddlers and other water sport enthusiasts can choose from the mighty ocean or the sparkling river.
Both professional and amateur cyclists (single or bunch) are well catered for in and around Noosa with cycle lanes and off-road trails aplenty.
For golfers, the Noosa area offers a wide array of quality courses to suit most pockets and handicaps from Noosa Springs to the Coolum Resort (former home of the Australian PGA). In addition there’s a picturesque 9-holer at Noosa Valley and a relaxed Par 3 course.
Tennis fans served up a choice of courts at the Noosa Tennis Centre, Noosa Springs Country Club and the public court on Gympie Terrace on the riverside.
